CMO letter to Schools – Christmas 2020
17th December 2020
Dear all,
2020 is the year we will remember when our front-line workers became our heroes and our school leaders, teachers and ancillary staff essentially became front line workers. In September we reopened our school and asked everyone staff and students to adapt and change to the new routines. Forced to rethink everything we examined what it really means to be a school and surprisingly have even gotten to know one another better. In a time of much uncertainty, one thing is sure – this is a school year we will never forget.
Our teachers and SNAs have worked tirelessly with our students to ensure they achieve their academic goals. We are proud to work with such a committed positive and enthusiastic team. Teachers and SNAs are privileged each day to participate in our student’s academic journey. We recognise and applaud just how hard our students try. We celebrate our students’ achievements whether they be great or small and we share with pride the progress our students make with their learning.
Students, please take a minute to reflect and be proud of how you have come through this challenge with courage, commitment and connectedness to HCCS. Be proud of the role you have played to keep our school community safe. When we returned to school in September our message to you was a call to leadership and you most certainly did that. You are positive, you have shown commitment to your school work, you showed resilience & creativity. You learned new skills and you adapted to change, you showed compassion and you supported your friends. We say a huge Well Done!
We would like to thank the parents who have been incredibly supportive. Your input makes a significant contribution to the vibrant character and atmosphere of our school. Thank you!
We would also like to acknowledge the support and work of the school’s Board of Management and thank them for their enormous commitment. The Board of Management members give generously of their time and expertise to support and enhance the essential work of the school.
On behalf of the community of HCCS we wish each and everyone of you a happy healthy and safe Christmas. We look forward to 2021 and brighter days ahead.
Take care and stay safe
